Eagles in Vancouver

Here's an amazing photo! It was sent to my by my neighbor Donna.
Who has ever seen so many bald eagles in one place? Just seeing a single eagle makes me squeal like a little girl....
These are Vancouver baldies , trying to get through this past very cold winter. They got some help from the humans at Goose Spit (I love the name!) on Vancouver Island.

Wow! Cool beans! I'd love to see that in person. (Shall I come up for a visit?)
Two days ago I counted 12 red-tailed hawks sporting their darkest phase of plumage roosting in the neighbor's tree. I'd never seen that many at one time around these parts. I figured they were migrating and that the 36 hour wind storm/front that had moved through here the day before had set them off course a bit. We kept the chickens locked up yesterday.

Duh, you're not in Vancouver. I knew that.

When I saw that picture, I thought of you right away, Lori. It may well be that some of those eagles were the same ones we saw on Orcas Island. Well, probably not.
