Another Book Club Title

I bagged out on book club last weekend, having not read the book for the evening, which was The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill. I don't know if I missed a good book, but whenever I ask anyone who was there about the book, all they can talk about is how delicious the dinner was.

We are a funny book club. It's more of a gourmet food and wine club at which the menu is based upon a work of fiction. And it's made up entirely of my near-at-hand neighbors. It's a neighborhood packed with foodies. It sounds wonderful, and it is.
So the fabulous meal I missed was all African food. There was apparently a goat stew which was quite a hit.

Anyhow, the next book will be Surfacing, by Margaret Atwood. I am not a great fan of Atwood. But, at least it's not A Handmaid's Tale. That book was a bit of a drag.
So I guess the menu for this next meeting will be Canadian. I am so ignorant of Canadian cuisine.
Poutine and Tim-bits is all I know.
